1 extension on our work phone system is getting voicemails every 3 minutes and it is just a long beeping noise?
Came into work and it had 90 messages all 3 minutes apart with a long beeping noise. Not sure what is causing it. Is it just the extension, because all the other phones are ok? It is a NEC aspire buzz, tried searching on their website but got not anything

It sounds like it’s a fax machine trying to call. Somebody got the incorrect number in and it’s calling your work. It calls every 3 minutes because a lot of fax machines are programmed to do this until they finally succeed in sending the fax. It’s on the 1 extension because that one is the number they programmed in. If you have several line and they all ring from the same number, the second, third, etc, lines all have their own number. The buzz company just has it set up so if the first line is busy an incoming call “hunts” down to the next free line. Kind of like call forwarding on busy. If you have a fax at work, connect it to this line to receive the fax and fax them back and question them to right the number they’re trying to call. If you don’t have a fax maybe you can borrow one for a small time. If you have a computer with a buzz card just install a free fax program in it and have it answer the call.
