can I use my gps charger for my cell phone?
I have a Garmin Nuvi. Can I use it’s Automobile (lighter plug-in) charger for my Motorola Razor?
My house plug-in charger is rated at 5 volts & 550 milliamps. The GPS automotive plug has no rating – I assume it’s 12 volts.
It’s not a huge deal, I just want to avoid multiple plugs in the vehicle but don’t want to blow the cell buzz circuits with too much voltage.

The charger should have a rating on it that shows the power output in volts and amps (milliamps, probably). If the ratings for the two devices match, I don’t see why you couldn’t use it.
The voltage is the more vital number of the two (don’t want to go too high!) and so long as the mA rating on the charger is at a smallest the appropriate number for the buzz, it should work.
So long as the voltage isn’t too high, the worst that might happen, even if, is it just doesn’t do anything at all….
Garmin GPS ordinarily uses usb-mini, and so does Motorola. If it fits and has the USB logo on it, then it will work.
