iPhone, or Asus EEE, or Macbook?

Honestly, I need some HardCore Tech Advise I need some kind of new “thing” to consume my time whilst on the train and bus. I am on a budget and don’t want to go over 1,000$. As I said I am out a lot and opportunity for it getting lost, stolen, or robbed is there.

This is what I want in my device
01. Ebook/PDF Reader
02. Internet 3g or Wi-Fi
02.5 WEB 2.0 APPS
03. A typeable qwerty Keyboard (iPhone Exception?)

Macbook Pro(not literal) – I do not have a Mac yet reflect that they are awesome.
Macbook CON – Having anything apple kind of puts a bullseye on me.
iPhone CON – Dont have enough $ for the Monthly Plot
Asus Pro – small enought to fit anywhere?
Asus CON – If I am going to spend 400$ on a EEE pc why not 600$ more and get soo much extra!

I am going to have to involve around a crappy prepaid cell buzz on top of whatever except iphone

How…Asus netbook to hook up to dial up or roadrunner?

I have a new Asus 701SD 7″ netbook that comes ready for wifi, but what do I do when I go somewhere there is no wifi…just regular dial up? The Asus people said I have to buy a USB modem of some sort but did not clarify anymore then that. Im not up on the latest and have seen different items for sale with that name on ebay. I dont want to buy the incorrect thing. Does this really plug into the wall and the netbook or what? Ive seen other things also that may (or may not) work, that plug into it wirelessly. ??? What are my options. I do know that I want to just buy something that will always work where there is service, and not have to pay a monthly service fee thru a mobile buzz place. Thanks. This netbook does not have a buzz line hook up. Its meant to be used with the built in wifi. They said in peacefulness to be used with dial up, it has to be done thru usb from what I was told. I know many hotels offer free dial up but am not sure exactly what to buy to make it work. Thanks so far!

asus eee…?

alright, i’m going to get an asus, and i have some questions:
1. does it support different types of media files that windows does?(mp3,wmv,wma,mp3,wav,avi,divx…)
2.does it come with full microsoft office(word,excel,powerpoint)
3. does it support hebrew?
4. will it work with my buzz(sony erricson w800)
5. is it simple t sync files with my vista?
6. i’m not interested in a huge fancy pc. im getting the asus just for school so i can do basic work even as listining to music. so i’m getting a basic 2 gb. is that a huge mistake? should i get anything surpass? basically – my fee limit is pretty much 300$. what;s the best new asus i can get for that fee?

Problems connecting phone via bluetooth.?

I have an LG8300 and an ASUS laptop. I am trying to link the two together and I get as far as the Security PIN for the connection, but after that my connection manager questions for a Buzz Number and a User name and a Password for the dial-up connection. I am not sure what it is asking. If anyone can help me out I would be very thankful.

Should I upgrade to an AGP or a PCI-E graphics card? (With an Asus A8V-X)?

My motherboard is an Asus A8V-X. I was wondering, what type of graphics card should I upgrade to?

When I first ordered the PC online I chose a PCI-E graphics card to go with it, and was told it would work with the motherboard. But a few days after I ordered I received a buzz call saying they were not compatible, so I had to downgrade to an Nvidia 6200 (AGP), which is what I now have.

I now want to upgrade my graphics card but I am reading conflicting tales on what type of card my motherboard can take. The Asus website says it has 2 PCI-E slots but I am still nerve-racking because the guy who rang me up (who built it and is held to know what he’s doing) told me it isn’t compatible.

Can anyone shed some light on the real situation here? Would my motherboard support PCI-E cards or not?

I need to upgrade to anything higher than an Nvidia 6600 that is not too expensive.

How to get my internet connexion?

I have a desktop computer and I am tender to new home , now i got buzz connexion but i am not able to connect internet , the internet connection symbol in right down corner of the screen show there is a connection (effective excellent).Ethernet card is inbuilt p35-158 in ASUS motherbord and in device manager also show it works properly . what can i do ? is it hardware or software problem ?

How can I get my USB Microphone working on my linux-run laptop?

My laptop is an Asus Eee 900 run on Linux. I never had a choice- I’m not allowed to have a windows computer because I’ll crash it. So, I’m not very smart. If anyone has an answer- please clarify as if you are telling a five-year-ancient how to deactivate a bomb over the buzz. There is a mic on the computer by now- but it sucks. Please help before I result in out the sledgehammer!
