How do I get my blackberry curve ringer to sound when I get a sms?
I just got a blackberry curve 8830 and the profile is on normal sounds and when I get a call I hear my ringer, but when I get a text it just vibrates. I edited the profile and the sms in/out of holster are set to Vibrate+Tone. How do I get my buzz to beep when I get a thought? And what is the difference between in and out of holster?

Go under the sound settings on your buzz and you should find it and how to change that somewhere in there. & Im not sure about the holster thing except youre discussion about a buzz case. & if thats the case in holster is when you have the buzz inside a case, and out holster, is when youre in the buzz in a case, but most of it can still be visible.
out of holster is the standard operating mode for a BlackBerry. In holster is a defend mode which lets the device use less power/resources.
Th reason you don’t hear your tone when an sms comes in is that the alert vibrates first and is finished before the tone can start. Set the option to tone only and that should fix your problem.
Also try varying the “level 1′ thought to tone only as well.
