How does blackberry internet differ from that of a regular cell phone?
I have Verizon and am confused on how blackberry’s work versus regular cell phones. If you turn off internet access on a blackberry, you cannot make buzz calls or text messages. Why is this? Does their internet function on a different frequency? Can anyone clarify how a blackberry works?

BlackBerry devices can make calls and receive text messages even if a data plot is not active. But, Verizon is a carrier that requires that you add the BlackBerry data plot if you are going to be using a BlackBerry on their network. Removing the data plot is not an option like it is with other carriers.
Firstly, the answer has not anything to do with the question that was questioned. Secondly, you can have the data plot off the buzz on a CDMA network as long as the provisioning features are on the account. You won’t see EX, you would only see 1x instead of the usual 1XEV on a CDMA networks like Verizon. I should know coz I am a Tech Solutions Expert.
But more importantly, to answer the real question. Whats the difference between the internet on a cell and a BB device. HUGE Difference. Cell buzz provider’s give limited access to browser capabilities since most of the cell buzz data plans are really cheap and are unlimited.
On a cell buzz you can mainly browse to the links that the cell buzz provider puts on their WAP Portal. Yes they would include the most basic functions such as checking your mail (hotmail, yahoo, gmail) and of course Facebook.
But 90% of the times when you try to browse to a normal site it wouldn’t work. if it does awesome! If it doesn’t then the provider doesn’t support it.
On the other hand Blackberry’s internet is a real internet on your buzz. It is only limited by the website’s inability to work properly on a data devices. But, 90% of the wesbites would work flawlessly.
I hope that kinda helped you out.
Cheers
