How long should I charge my Acer One 3 cell battery before I use the computer?
I bought an Acer one for computing on the go. It has a three cell battery and I have been told to charge it like a cell buzz and I by now figured I would get that asking this question. What I am asking is How long do I really need to charge it before use to achieve full charge.

The info that ships with it should say to charge for at least 12 hours before the first use.
After that it depends on how long you used it and how much of the battery is drained.
arnd 3hrs
The acer aspire one 3-cell battery has three T1850 cells. One T1850 cell takes about 40 minutes to get to full charge capacity. Since the three cells are in a “series” as opposed to a “parallel” configuration, the battery will take three times this time to achieve full charge – we are here discussion about 120 minutes or 2 hours.
But, as the battery gets older, it will not charge to its initial full capacity, and it will take a longer time to get to its new full capacity (which is less than in terms of charge than the initial full capacity) – the charge time is proportional to the number of charge/discharge cycles that the battery has gone through.
Bottom line is: if it is a new battery, full charge is achieved after about 2 hours. As the battery gets older, charge time increases and a charge time of 3 hours is not abnormal. After about 300 charge/discharge cycles, the battery will stop effective because the three T1850 cells will stop taking charge.
