I have a “old” HP laptop. How can we get this wireless without going through our phone line?

If you have broadband at home (not dial up) you could buy a USB wireless card. They are honestly cheap these days off newegg.
simple
1.get broadband
2. get router
3. be sure to having wirless capability in computer if yes proceed if no, u cant get wirless
4. get wirless cable card for laptop
5. install to laptop
6. connect to internet
