Is the Samsung Blackjack phone compatible with Blackberry RIM software?
I have the Blackberry RIM software on my server at work and currently have a Blackberry 8700c buzz. I want to go with a Samsung Blackjack, but don’t know if the Blackberry software is compatible.

until recently you were kinda screwed in that regards. RIM (Research In Motion – the Manufacturer of BlackBerry software) seem to realize slowly that they cannot compete against the “Windows movable based PocketPC’s/smartphones flood – which become more and more capable. Although the pricetag of a PPC/smartphone isnt a lightweight.
But you’re in luck, RIM announced a week ago officially here: http://www.blackberry.com/news/push/2007/pr-23_04_2007-01.shtml that they’re going to release a “virtual BlackBerry application experience” – whatever that might mean
I hope only that they will NOT run a Virtual Machine emulation software and THEN on top their blackberry suite. If they do that, then they can kiss all the “low CPU power” smartphone users excellent bye – which the SAMSUNG BLACKJACK is unfortunately part of. It’s CPU is a low-end 210 Mhz processor. An average PocketPC has between 400 and 600+ Mhz CPU these days.
IF you can afford it, get the hx2495B iPAQ and the SAMSUNG SYNC, to use the cell as highspeed internet modem (up to 1,200 kbit/s in foremost cities, and in the future up to 10,800 kbit/s!!!) for the pocketPC through bluetooth connection. There is a trick to pay only 25/30 USD per month for this internet access. Its not illegal, but cingular does not want you to know it, as it is a technical loophole they cannot close – due to Bluetooth specifications.
hope this helps – if not, send me a msg and i’ll clarify
