Philips VOIP8411B/37 Skype wireless phone how does it work?
hi
so i’m thinking of getting a Philips VOIP8411B/37 Skype wireless buzz. i want to use it in internet cafes or hot spots. i see that it comes packaged with some type of base.
the question is do i have to plug anything into a computer like a USB dongle to get this to work or can i unadorned just walk into a wifi spot and make international buzz calls for free to a skype user? i really want one if it works. if it’s clear and simple to use and i can just walk into a wifi spot and take a call then i want it. if the equipment is not there…i don’t want to buy it. also can anyone clarify what this new equipment called “DECT” equipment does?
here is what i’m looking at:

I don’t reflect this is the model you want.
Not all VoIP phones are WiFi.
The base is for charging the buzz and to connect to a landline. That is so you can use it with your existing POTS line. It also connects to your router. You may not need a CPU to use it but you will need an Internet connection to the base station. I don’t have that particular model but I reflect it would be the same.
DECT – Digitally Enhanced Cordless Telephone – is the new equipment to enhances the sound and security available in a cordless buzz.
If you are using Skype checking their website for WiFi phones would be a excellent place to start.
