Which is better to have, GPS on the cell phone like Sprint Navigator or as a separate device like Garmin?
Reasons of why one is surpass than the other would help. Thanx.
What are the advantages of having one over the other?

This might not help, but it’s really personal preference and application. The cell buzz will always be updated with the latest information and latest software and is easily portable.
The Garmin device doesn’t need to be recharged (with the DC adapter), can work anywhere- even when there isn’t cell service, and some have an FM transmitter and an MP3 player. It will interrupt a song, speak the direction (take next exit, etc) and go back to playing the song.
Thoroughly research both before deciding since it is that vital.
In my opinion you should have 2 separate devices. Here is my logic. When do you need your GPS the most? It is when you are looking for a specific place. If you are using your buzz as a GPS then if you choose to call ahead and tell the person at the location you are going to that you are running a small late then you are going to temporarily loose your gps viewing. This makes you a small later now because you are lost. Having 2 separate devices solves this problem.
Right me if I am incorrect, but you are going to pay a fee each month for using your buzz as a GPS device. For what you pay for this GPS service each month you could by yourself a nice vehicle or portable gps unit.
Last but not least if you are in a location where your buzz doesn’t get a excellent signal you are not going to be able to use the GPS function. Many people don’t reflect about this and Sprint is not going to result in it up either. A separate GPS can raise up a signal anywhere outdoors.
I hope I was able to help. I just got my portable vehicle GPS unit recently and really like it. It is a Garmin Nuvi 260W. I did some research and found fantastic reviews at the source below.
Excellent Luck!
