Why does my Panasonic cordless phone have a lot of static when I talk on it?
I just place in a new battery.

Its getting interference from other devices in your house, more then liable microwave based things or RF devices. Change the channel on your base station and it should fix it.
If there is a fluorescent light nearby sometimes they can cause this.
